Nia- Inspired Movement Sessions

NIA participants come from all walks of life but are united in their desire to feel better, move better and have fun.

What is It?

Nia-Inspired Movement integrates elements of dance, martial arts and healing arts that blends movement, mindfulness, connection and joy to provide an accessible, whole-body workout.  Our Hawkestone Hall sessions are 60 minutes.

What are the benefits of Nia-Inspired Movement?.  Benefits often include:

  • Increased confidence and joy of living in your body
  • Increased balance, agility, grace and flexibility
  • Increased endurance and stamina
  • Enhanced strength and muscle tone
  • Reduced stress. Enhanced sense of calm
  • Improved sense of overall well-being
  • Enhanced sense of connection and community

What do I wear and what do I bring?

Wear anything that you feel good in and allows you to move comfortably. Most participants practice in bare feet.  If you have concerns about being barefoot, consider non-slip socks or soft-soled shoes.  Also please bring along a yoga mat and a water bottle.

 How much does it cost?

Participants are asked to contribute $5/per week as a donation towards the hall rental and other related costs.

Do I have to sign up?

No, you are welcome to join either or both sessions held weekly on Mondays 4:00-5:00pm and Wednesday 10:00-11:00am.
