Mindful Fitness- Session 1

The Mindful Fitness program includes :
         60 minute guided exercise class
         15 minute instruction/discussion mindfulness topics
         15 minute guided meditation
          Information / worksheets on mindfulness topics
          Complete take home exercise program package
This course will focus on improving muscle strength and endurance using elastic fitness bands and light hand weights. Flexibility and balance will be practiced by doing simple tandem stands, yoga poses and release moves. A brief low impact cardio section will work the heart and lungs. Each class will have a mindfulness component where topics such as breathing techniques for stress relief, healthy eating strategies, positive affirmations, self – care, creating a positive outlook, and self-esteem will be discussed. Class will end with a meditation.
All levels of fitness are encouraged in this program. Special focus is put on proper technique and form to get the most out of each exercise while making sure there is never any harm done. Adaptation can be made for any injuries or limitations.
  Jan is a Kinesiologist with a specialist in exercise science. She has taught Physical Education for many years but is now retired.  Her passion is to offer a safe, fun program especially geared to the mature generation.
The cost is $200 per 3-month session.
